Jannat Zubair Rehmani, Tu Aashiqui, actress who recently say about the controversy of kissing scene with co-star Ritvik Arora,The show was in news for a kissing scene between the 16-year-old lead actress Jannat Zubair aka Pankti and her co-star.
Jannat, who plays Pankti, is the love interest of Ahaan, played by Ritvik Arora. Now, Jannat, 16, was recently asked to shoot a kissing sequence with her co-star in the serial. This did not go down well with Jannat’s mother. There are reports that claim the actress’s mother contacted the producers of the show and clearly stated her disagreement over the kissing scene.
Now news says that the makers have agreed to her terms and conditions. In an exclusive chat with the telling a leading daily, the actress spoke about the entire controversy.
The makers have finally agreed to our terms and conditions and I am happy. They have agreed that I won’t be performing any intimate scenes in the future. I am relieved with the decision as a lot of things have happened in the last two weeks. All this while, I was okay with shooting a kiss on hand or forehead but there are certain things that don’t suit my age and I am not comfortable doing,” said the actress.
She also said, “I understand that a leading lady is expected to do certain things, but I am just 16. I can’t do what a 25-year-old would. A kiss on the hand or forehead is fine, but what I was asked to do was out of place. It was an intense kiss and I wouldn’t have been comfortable doing it. I have many teenagers following me on social media and if I agree to do something like this, it would set a wrong example. There is an appropriate age for everything and even then, the actress should be given the option of choosing to do a particular scene.”
She added, “Most parents don’t speak against the makers, fearing that their child would be replaced on the show, but not mine. I felt very proud when my mother took a stand for me and told the makers that I won’t do the scene. Also, it’s not that we raised the concern midway. We had clearly mentioned right at the beginning that I wouldn’t do scenes that didn’t suit my age. I was clear that I’d rather quit the show than perform intimate scenes with my co-actor.”
Few days ago news says that the makers of Tu Aashiqui were planning to replace Jannat with another actress on the show. But things have been sorted now and Jannat will not be replaced on the show.
