Filmmaker Puja Bedi, niece of producer Bobby Bedi is all set to make a biopic on internationally-renowned beauty entrepreneur Shahnaz Husain. The film will be based on Husain’s daughter, Nelofar Currimbhoy’s biography on her mother titled, Flame: The Inspiring Life Of My Mother, of which Bedi acquired the rights last year.
After much discussion, the biopic on famed beautician Shahnaz Husain, will not star Priyanka Chopra. Instead, the makers want to rope in Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Though director Puja Bedi initially was keen on Priyanka playing the role, the actress was busy with her Hollywood commitments.
Kamlesh Pandey, who is scripting the film,He said in an interview to DNA I am working on the script and screenplay of Shahnaz Husain’s fascinating and inspiring story. The film will trace her successful journey from a naïve, young girl hailing from a conservative Muslim family to one of the most successful businesswomen in the world of beauty.
Aishwarya was always our first choice,” Kamlesh said. Adding that two other actresses wanted to bag the project, he said, “But we want the tehzeeb and adab of the character to reflect in the actor’s DNA. The vocabulary certainly could not be that of the Facebook and Twitter generation. Aishwarya is perfect, keeping in mind all these prerequisites.”
“She has immense potential in comparison to the opportunities that have come her way. Bollywood has been too preoccupied by Aishwarya Rai’s beauty to challenge the actor in her,” he added. The report also stated that the makers of the film will soon meet Aishwarya to discuss about it.
Aishwarya at present busy shooting for her next film Fanney Khan that also features Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. Being directed by Atul Manjrekar, the film will reportedly present Aishwarya and Rajkummar’s characters in a romantic relationship.
